VALLEY CATHOLIC 42, UMATILLA 7 — Linkin Zamudio scored for the Vikings in the second quarter, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Valiants cruised to a nonleague win in Beaverton.
Zamudio, who ran for 118 yards, scored on a 3-yard run, and Abrahan Garcia kicked the extra point to pull Umatilla within 20-7.
Edwin Madrigal and Zamudio each had six tackles for the Vikings, while Isaac Cortes had four tackles and an interception, and Gael Valenzuela had a forced fumble.
Valley Catholic quarterback Alex Adams threw for 270 yards and five touchdowns — two to Cooper Bonnett.
