UMATILLA 2, ECHO/STANFIELD 2 — Shelby Blanchet scored in the first 10 minutes of the game, and the last 15 minutes of the game, as the Cougars (3-0-1) rallied to forge a tie with the visiting Vikings in Special District 5 play.
“We played a solid 10 minutes and good spurts throughout the game, just struggled staying consistent,” E/S coach Danielle MacBride said.
“They battled to come back and tie it, which is a plus. We came out hard early to take the lead, but we definitely have some things to keep working on to make sure we stay on top of our game for 80 minutes.”
Umatilla (3-0-2), which sits atop the SD5 standings, got goals from Ava Montiel and Yesenia Castaneda, while senior goalkeeper Rylee Sanchez had eight saves.
