UMATILLA 5, LA GRANDE 0 — Javier Ruiz scored two goals, and Abrahan Garcia had a clean sheet in goal as the Vikings beat the visiting Tigers in a nonleague game.
“We controlled most of the game and improved in passing, but still a lot of work to do,” Umatilla coach Pedro Ortiz said.
Umatilla (2-1-2) led 3-0 at the half with goals by Ruiz, Matthew Pina and Isaac Madrigal. Ruiz and William Barajas scored in the second half. Garcia finished with one save.
