BURNS 62, UMATILLA 7 — The Vikings held the fifth-ranked Hilanders scoreless in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to erase the damage done in the first half in an Eastern Oregon League loss to Burns on the road.
Burns scored 30 points in the first quarter and 32 in the second as the Hilanders rolled up 319 yards of offense.
Linkin Zamudio scored Umatilla’s lone touchdown in the fourth quarter from 1 yard out. Abrahan Garcia added the PAT.
Zamudio had 26 yards rushing, and Xzavier Rodriguez threw for 62 yards, with Jayden Perches catching two passes for 48 yards.
Defensively, Jayden Armenta-Rivera had five tackles, while Zamudio had four and Octavio Salas Torres three.
For Burns, Jack Wright completed 12 of 15 passes for 279 yards and six touchdowns to five different players. Coltin Miller caught four passes for 159 yards and one touchdown.
