La Grande, which led 27-9 at the half, got a game-high 27 points from Rowan Evans and 11 from Peyton Daggett.

LA GRANDE 75, UMATILLA 62 — The Vikings went on a 41-38 run in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to catch the visiting Tigers in the season opener for both teams.
La Grande outscored Umatilla 38-25 in the first half behind nine points from Tyler Abbott and eight from Landon Hood.
Mike McGee had a game-high 18 points for Umatilla, while David Garcia chipped 17 points.
Beckett Hutchins led the Tigers with 15 points — all on 3-pointers, while Jack Kimball added 11.
