BURNS 55, UMATILLA 47 — Jack Wright scored 14 of his 22 points in the first half as the Hilanders took an early lead and held off the Vikings down the stretch for an Eastern Oregon League home win.
Burns (12-3 overall, 2-2 EOL) led 13-6 after the first quarter and 25-19 at the half. The Hilanders gave themselves a bit of breathing room with a 15-8 run in the third quarter for a 40-27 lead.
David Garcia scored eight of his 18 points in the fourth quarter as the Vikings (11-6, 2-2) put together a 20-15 run, but it wouldn’t be enough.
Mike McGee added eight points, six rebounds and three assists for Umatilla, while Jayden Perches scored all seven of his points in the fourth quarter, and had four rebounds and three steals.
