NYSSA 69, UMATILLA 68 — The Vikings played catch-up the entire game, but in the end they fell a point short to the host Bulldogs in Eastern Oregon League action.
Nyssa (8-10 overall, 2-3 EOL) led 19-11 after the first quarter and 38-22 at the half. The Vikings (11-7, 2-3) rallied in the third with a 20-9 run to pull with 47-42, and despite a 26-point outburst in the fourth, they still fell short.
David Garcia led Umatilla with 24 points and four steals, while Mike McGee had 22 points, six rebounds and three steals, and Jayden Perches had eight points and nine rebounds.
Tony Gomeza led Nyssa with 20 points, while Avery Larson had 18.
