UMATILLA 2, BAKER 2 — The Vikings’ Jose Campos converted a penalty kick in the second half to forge a tie with the Bulldogs in a nonleague game in Baker City.
“We controlled the game most of the time,” Umatilla coach Pedro Ortiz said. “We need to work on better definition with our strikers, and fewer loose balls when we go on the attack.”
Jayden Armenta scored in the first half for the Vikings, who trailed 2-1 at the half.
Umatilla goalkeeper Miguel Mendez finished with two saves.

UMATILLA 6, GRANT UNION 0 — The Vikings ran their win streak to five games with a Special District 5 road win over the Prospectors in John Day.
“It was very tough at the start, but we were able to fix most of our main issues within the first 20 minutes,” Umatilla coach Edgar Navarrete said. “It was great being able to put into practice everything we worked on throughout the week, especially with the last two weeks being so game heavy. It was a nice change of pace.”
Elaina Jewett had two goals for the Vikings (6-1 overall, 5-1 SD5), while Lucille Horn, Ava Montiel and Evelyn Christensen had goals, and Hailee Montiel scored on a penalty kick.
Umatilla goalkeeper EvaLynn Campos had five saves.
