Edwin Sanchez wants to go into the workforce after high school. He plans to get his CDL license to work for a trucking company and be a truck driver.

Crystal Garcia will be attending Blue Mountain Community College this fall to finish her associates degree. After she completes her associates she wants to transfer to Portland State University and apply for their physician assistant program. She wants to specify her career path and work as a cosmetic dermatologist assistant.

Smoke from a science experiment set off the fire alarm at Clara Brownell Middle School this morning. Everyone is safe, and there was no damage to District property or equipment. We were able to quickly identify there was no immediate threat, and we used the impromptu opportunity to run an unscheduled fire drill. Huge thanks to both Umatilla Police Department and Umatilla Fire Department for their quick response time. We appreciate you!!! - Rick Cotterell, CBMS Principal
El humo de un experimento científico activó la alarma contra incendio en la escuela secundaria Clara Brownell esta mañana. Todos están a salvo y no hubo daños a la propiedad o al equipo del Distrito. Pudimos identificar rápidamente que no había una amenaza inmediata y aprovechamos la oportunidad improvisada para realizar un simulacro de incendio no programado. OSAA Track & Field State Championship Results! Taylor Durfey finished 3rd in javelin, 5th in discus, and 2nd in shot put. Taylor threw 113 feet and 3 inches in javelin, 109 feet in discus, and 36 feet and 4.25 inches in shot-put. Luis Campos-Mendoza finished 4th in discus. Luis threw 121 feet and 11 inches in discus. Way to go, Vikings!
Resultados del Campeonato Estatal de Atletismo de OSAA! Taylor Durfey terminó tercero en jabalina, quinto en disco y segundo en lanzamiento de peso. Taylor lanzó 113 pies y 3 pulgadas en jabalina, 109 pies en disco y 36 pies y 4,25 pulgadas en lanzamiento de peso. Luis Campos-Mendoza finalizó cuarto en disco. Jara Montez will be attending Charter College this fall in Pasco, Washington. Jara will be studying in their 10-month dental program to eventually work in a profession in the dental field.
Jara Montez asistirá a Charter College este otoño en Pasco, Washington. Ella estudiaría en el programa que tienen de dental de 10 meses para eventualmente tener una profesión en el campo dental.

Senior Spotlight!
Issac Armenta has enlisted in the National Guard and will begin his training in the fall. After completing his training, Issac plans to work as a drone technician in aviation.
Isaac Armenta se ha enrolado en la Guardia Nacional y comenzará su entrenamiento en otoño. Después de completar su entrenamiento, planea trabajar como técnico de drones en aviación.

Madeline Cisneros plans to continue her education at a college this fall in either Walla-Walla or Pasco, Washington. She wants to study nursing to eventually become a registered nurse.

State Bound! Congratulations to Lynkin McLeod and Ulises Armenta! They are off today to compete in doubles at the Tennis State Championships. The state championships are being held at Oregon State University this weekend. Let's go, Vikings!

Quinn Funderburk will be attending Corban University this fall to study criminal justice. After completing his degree he will attend an undecided law school to become a defense attorney.

State Bound! Congratulations, Taylor Durfey and Luis Campos-Mendoza. They have qualified for the OSAA State Championships for Track and Field. Taylor will be competing in discus, shot put, and javelin. Luis will be competing in discus. The state championships are this week, May 19-21, at the University of Oregon. Let’s go, Vikings!
