WOW! McNary Heights Elementary collected 3,272 items during their Canned Food Drive—1,000 more than last year! Thank you to all the families who donated and to the Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District for picking up the items. These donations will help the fire department create food baskets for families in need in our community. A special shout-out to Mrs. Armenta’s 4th-grade class, who brought in the most items and earned a well-deserved Hot Chocolate Party!

Hwy 730 is closed due to an accident. Students living between Lee Estates and County Line on Viking Route will remain at school. Parents will need to transport them home as we cannot get past the road barriers. Please expect all other routes to be delayed as well.

Students from Mrs. Fritz’s Family and Consumer Science (FACS) classes completed their first lab today! They wore the aprons they sewed in their previous unit and followed kitchen procedures to make pumpkin spice horchata–perfect for the fall season!

If you would like a retake of your student’s Fall pictures, please send your student to school on Wednesday with their original picture booklet and order. Students who were absent on picture day or have joined us since then will also have their pictures taken, even without a pre-order.
