At McNary's last assembly, we celebrated numerous achievements. We recognized students who received a MOST award, as well as those who earned behavior awards. We also honored high achievers on the ELPA assessment, graduates from the English Language Development (ELD) Program, and completers of the Native Language Learners (NLL) Program.

Check out highlights from our annual McNary Olympics at MHES! Since 2014, 2nd through 5th graders have come together for a day of friendly competition. Each class chooses a country to research and represent in track and field events. The older grades compete in the morning, then a closing ceremony is held where 4th and 5th grade students share facts about their country. The younger grades then compete in the afternoon. In each event, awards are given to the top three winners.

Cada clase elige un país para investigar y representar en eventos de atletismo. Step back in time with the 5th-graders at MHES! Every year, our 5th-grade students dive into history by becoming a historical figure. They choose a historical figure, research them, dress up, and share their stories with the class. To celebrate Earth Day, McNary Heights visited the McNary Nature Trails and Dam! The day was filled with engaging activities and educational presentations on water pollution, ecosystems, recycling, and more. Our students had an amazing time during their visit to The Umapine Creamery! They had the opportunity to learn about the entire cheese and milk production process, from tending to the crops grown for the cows to understanding the workings of the milking parlor and seeing a cheese-making demonstration. They even got to taste-test some delicious cheese and chocolate milk. The highlight of the trip? Petting some adorable baby cows!
