McNary Heights is in full holiday spirit! Classrooms each decorated their doors for the door decorating competition. The Kinder hall even went all out with a cheerful Whoville theme. Check out pictures of the rest of the doors on our facebook page!

All three schools today were able to enjoy a delicious holiday meal put together by our nutrition staff! Students were able to enjoy ham, au gratin potatoes, stuffing, and a roll. Thank you to our nutrition staff for putting this together for students!

How is the Little Angel Shop ready for students to shop? Because of amazing donors and volunteers! Thank you to all who contributed items to the shop, the students have an amazing selection thanks to you. Thank you to our Parent Teacher Club members, school board volunteers, and Amazon Web Service employee volunteers for giving time on Sunday to make sure all was ready for students today. We appreciate you!
McNary Heights has wrapped up their Canned Food Drive, and they collected a total of 2,274 non-perishable items! All items were donated to the Umatilla Volunteer Firefighters Association for their annual Christmas food baskets. The class that brought in the most cans and won a hot chocolate party was Ms. Estrella’s 5th-grade class! Great work, Mustangs, and thank you to all the families who contributed.

We appreciated the opportunity to visit with Dr. Charlene Williams (Director of the Oregon Department of Education) and her team this week. She toured our robotics and dual language programs in action. On her tour, she was able to see middle school students building and programming their FTC robots, hear the high school FRC students explain how their robotics team works with their various subteams and ended the tour watching Kinder and 4th grade dual language classes complete reading and math lessons in Spanish. We appreciate the Oregon Department of Education taking the time to visit and experience a glimpse of Umatilla schools.

Ella recorrió nuestros programas de robótica y lenguaje dual en acción. The Festival will take place on December 16th at Clara Brownell Middle School from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm and is free.

Advantage Dental will be at McNary Heights Elementary November 28th-30th for dental screenings. This service is FREE to all students. If you do NOT want your child to participate in the dental screening, please mark NO on the forms we have sent home and have your student return it to their teacher.
