Thank you to the Umatilla Rural Fire Department for visiting Ms. Silvani’s class last week to answer a student's question about bravery. The question was, “how can some of you be so brave, yet some be scared?” Fire Chief Chris shared that it takes a lot of courage and training to be a firefighter, and we appreciate all the risks they take to keep our community safe. Our students also enjoyed the opportunity to ask even more questions and received cool firefighter helmets and snacks.

Umatilla High School is having a Food Drive! The food drive is a competition between advisory classes. The class that brings in the most non-perishable food items between November 13th and December 1st wins an ice cream party! If you would like to contribute, please drop off your donations at the Umatilla High School office between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm.

We had an amazing turnout of families for Dual Language Family Night yesterday! Parents and students learned about the curriculum, received resources to help with at-home support, set goals, and explored bridging gaps between languages. Thank you to everyone who attended!

The vision screenings scheduled for this month at CBMS and MHES have been rescheduled. Vision screenings will now take place on October 31st at CBMS and November 2nd at MHES.
