Ahoy, mateys! Today for National School Lunch Week, students at McNary Heights Elementary School discovered a treasure of tasty treats—a yellow watermelon taste test from Walchli’s Hermiston Melon Company and they even had the chance to meet Bob Walchli himself, making the experience even sweeter!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fall Family Party! A special shout out to the Umatilla Fire Department, Umatilla Public Library, and Umatilla Parks and Rec for organizing the Firefighter Day event during the dance. Their booths and activities outside gave families a chance to grab some info, treats, and fun. Inside, families got to dance, play games, enjoy cookies, and take pictures at the photo booth. It was a great afternoon with lots of smiles and connections!

Thursday’s Spirit Week theme was School Colors Day, and school spirit was strong across all three schools! At UHS, the assembly featured fun volleyball matches with the teachers playing against the Juniors and Seniors.

At the site of the new school, Columbia Vista Intermediate, we have beams being placed! Today our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders had the exciting opportunity to visit the site and sign the top beam before watching it be lifted into position. Our students had so much fun seeing the progress made on the new school and were thrilled to be part of its history.
