🌞 Viking Fun Club Summer Success! 🌞
We just wrapped up 6 amazing weeks of summer learning and STEAM camp at Viking Fun Club, where 368 students from PreK through high school joined us for hands-on learning, enrichment activities, and fun-filled days of staying connected with friends and school staff! 💙💛
A huge thank you to the City of Umatilla for making the last day extra exciting with a bounce house and obstacle course, and to the Umatilla PTO for sponsoring our annual end-of-summer pool party—a favorite tradition for many of our students!
We’re incredibly grateful for the support of the Oregon Legislature, the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) grant, and Migrant Education funds, which make these engaging and meaningful opportunities possible.

🌞¡Éxito del verano del Viking Fun Club! 🌞
Acabamos de concluir 6 increíbles semanas de aprendizaje de verano y campamento STEAM en Viking Fun Club, donde 368 estudiantes desde prekínder hasta la preparatoria participaron en actividades prácticas, enriquecimiento académico y días llenos de diversión, manteniéndose conectados con sus amigos y el personal escolar.
¡Un enorme agradecimiento a la Ciudad de Umatilla por hacer que el último día fuera aún más emocionante con una casa inflable y una pista de obstáculos, y al PTO de Umatilla por patrocinar nuestra fiesta anual de fin de verano en la piscina, una tradición favorita para muchos de nuestros estudiantes!
Estamos muy agradecidos por el apoyo de la Legislatura de Oregón, la subvención del Programa de Centros de Aprendizaje Comunitario del Siglo 21 (CCLC, por sus siglas en inglés) y los fondos de Educación para Migrantes, que hacen posibles estas oportunidades tan atractivas y significativas.
¡Brindamos por otro verano inolvidable de aprendizaje, diversión y comunidad! 💙💛
Last week, we had over 200 students with their grownup come to Viking Fun Club to enjoy a Rae's Dayz donut and visit classrooms and STEAM camps. Everyone started the day in good spirits!

Our summer school students had a great time harvesting the garden! After picking fresh greens, they enjoyed some tuna leaf rolls.

Umatilla Jr. Athletics 11-Man Tackle Football is open to 5th–6th graders! The cost to participate is $65, and the registration deadline is Tuesday, July 16. A football bootcamp for all registered players will be held on July 16 at 5:00 PM at the Umatilla High School football field. If you have any questions, please email umatillajrathletics@gmail.com.

To celebrate positive behavior, McNary Heights students enjoyed a fun-filled day of snow cones, bouncy houses, and sweet treats at their behavior parties the last week of school!
A big thank you to our maintenance team for helping set up the event, to Mr. Young for coordinating all the fun, and to Victor Campos and Tillamook for providing the delicious ice cream.

On the last day of the STEAM Academy, some of our students took a field trip to the Pendleton Center for the Arts, where they toured the quilt art exhibit. Afterward, they created their own artwork and enjoyed lunch at the park!

Save the date! The current UHS shop is moving to make space for the remodeling of the current shop to become elective classrooms for CBMS. Everything left behind will be sold at our surplus sale on June 13th from 6-8 pm. Start lifting your weights and training- all you can carry will count as an arm load.
