Today at CBMS, students learned more about Red Ribbon Week and took part in some fun activities! They attended an assembly to learn why Red Ribbon Week is celebrated and about this year’s theme, “Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free.” Officer Lemon joined in and brought goggles that simulate the effects of alcohol and drugs, giving students a hands-on way to see how those substances can impact coordination and judgment during a relay race activity.

Along with the assembly, students celebrated the day’s theme, “Your Future is Bright,” by wearing neon.

OSAA Foundation Enhancing the future of Oregon High School Activities October 1, 2025 To: Dan Durfey, Umatilla High School From: Peter Weber, OSAA Foundation President RE: Kristie Patterson Fund Hope that this letter finds you well. Included with this letter is a $1,000 check from the OSAA Foundation on behalf of the newly established Kristie Patterson Fund. Per our conversation on the phone, this fund was created to memorialize a long-time employee of the Association who lost her battle with cancer in 2022. The OSAA Foundation and programs like the Student Assistance Program were very important to Kristie because they directly impact students' lives and help them break down barriers to participation that many take for granted. In addition, she was born and raised in Easter Oregon and the schools in that area always held a special place in her heart. We are very proud to present this check to Umatilla High School on behalf of the OSAA Foundation and in Kristie's honor. An OSAA Foundation representative will be following up with you later this year to learn how the funds were spent and how they helped students in your community thank you again for your application! If you have any questions, please let me know.
